Yesterday, I submitted my nomination forms and payment of fees to contest for the leadership of the NDC and eventually the Presidency of Ghana. This is an important and serious step in any man’s journey of life. It requires divine guidance, personal commitment, creative thinking and hard work, a strong campaign team, and the support of family, friends and well-wishers.
On this occasion, I wish to express warm appreciation and eternal thanks to all those who have supported me on this journey thus far....with their prayers, ideas, encouragement, criticism, resources, time and energy, money, logistics and goods in kind.
In paying the required fee of GHC 300,000, I chose by divine inspiration to add a special “love offering” of GHC 5,000. It surprised me that other aspirants, some of whom are presumed to be far better resourced than my team and I, paid only the exact amount of GHC 300,000. Evidently, some or all could have paid more. Although I consider these fees to be rather excessive and have protested and petitioned against them, the point I have made per the “Love offering” is that if for some people money is the main item that demonstrates a person’s love for another or even for his political party, then I love the NDC more than the other aspirants. Any of them could have chosen to pay more than the required minimum, but they didn’t.
So, like the two women in Solomon’s kingdom who disputed over who was the mother of a child, I hope it is now obvious to all which aspirant loves the NDC most.
I look forward to the continued guidance and blessings of God Almighty in my quest to lead Ghana, and to the love, support, ideas and encouragement of many more of you on this important journey of life.
Thanks and blessings
