A huge parcel of land located at Vorlor in the North Tongu was selected by former President Rawlings for an important project that, he said, would have created jobs and provided to serve the people of the Volta Region some good.

According to Former president Rawlings, the land had been looted and shared by NDC Executives among themselves, under the John Mahama Administration.

“… Before I realized, some party executives had shared the land among themselves.”, he said with pain.

MyNewsGh.com has serialised a series of quotes attributed to the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in which he said the NDC has abandoned the Volta Region, and it hurts him that the region has nothing to show by way of development under the NDC.

Jerry John Rawlings who is credited for fighting and conquering the six childhood killer diseases through his personal example of swallowing the vaccine in front of rural communities who were skeptical about it- which killed thousands of children; he is credited with the building of many hospitals and extending electricity to thousands of rural and urban communities, laying hundreds of railway lines as well as building thousands of roads and schools including Polytechnics and training colleges said Volta Region could have gotten more than it has.

Many Ghanaians of Volta Region origin have since criticized him for his comments as out of the NDC’s combined 16 years Democratic reign (27 actually) Rawlings has had 19 of it, and where there is a deficit in Volta Region, where he calls his home, he should question himself first.
