The flag bearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has said he is not hoodwinking Ghanaians with promises so they could vote for him in the December 7 polls.
Mr Akufo-Addo has promised to build a factory in each of the 216 districts across the country, build a dam for each farming village in the northern part of the country, as well as give each of the 275 constituencies one million dollars a year for infrastructural development. He has also promised to create a new region in the Western Region if elected.
Speaking at a rally in Hohoe in the Volta Region where he is on a five-day tour, Nana Akufo-Addo said: “All these promises…are not election gimmicks,” he said.
“They are not empty promises. If I could not do them, I would not stand before the people of Ghana and say I am coming to do it. I know the NPP and I, we have worked out what we need to do. We know we can do it.”
