My relationship with constituency chairman cordial - Oppong-Nkrumah

Former Joy FM morning show host, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has dismissed reports of a frosty relationship between him and the Ofoase-Ayeribi constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Ohene Ampomah told Starr News in an interview that Oppong-Nkrumah was not qualified to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the party because he had not served the party long enough.

“You must have served the party in the Constituency for at least two years to run as an MP, but Kojo has served the party for less than a year and a half, so what is pushing him to stand as an MP in this constituency?” Mr Ampomah wondered in the interview Friday April 10, 2015.

He was subsequently reported to have apologised to the broadcaster over the comments.

Commenting on the development after filing his nomination forms Thursday, Oppong-Nkrumah told Kafui Dey on Morning Starr that he has always maintained a cordial relationship with his chairman.

“I have a cordial relationship with him. In fact I had known and maintained a good relationship with him since he was the coordinator until he was elected as chairman," he said.
