Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will not allow his family, including his wife and children, to purchase state assets if he is elected president in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s manifesto at the University of Education, Winneba, he said his wife and his children will be prohibited from buying state properties if voted into power in the 2024 general elections.

He added that other politically exposed individuals, including appointees, will also be prevented from acquiring state assets.

He also announced that his new administration will reopen an investigation into all unresolved cases.

“We will embark on a ruthless war against corruption. We will prohibit politically exposed persons, political appointees, and public officials from purchasing state assets. So, it’s not only me who cannot buy state assets; my wife and children cannot buy state assets because they are political persons.”

“Re-open investigations into major unresolved cases, including the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, 2020 election killings, and Ahmed Suale killing.”
