The Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) has denied media reports that suggesting it had paid GHC4,500 to each member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Defence and Interior to influence the passage of the Narcotics Commission Bill 2015.

According to NACOB, the said allegation was made on Monday February 1 and Wednesday February 3.

But in a rejoinder dated February 3, 2016 and signed by its Executive Secretary, Yaw Akrasi-Sarpong, NACOB refuted the allegations, and is daring the host of Adom FM’s morning show, who made the allegation, to come forward with evidence to back his claim.

NACOB said although the Board met the MPs, the meeting was the first in a series to finalise preparations for the bill at the committee level.

The Board has, therefore, asked the media to verify their sources before publishing or broadcasting any information at their disposal.
