Cape Coast Feb. 24 GNA- Anthony Amonoo Quansah, 29, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) coordinator in Cape Coast, was on Wednesday remanded in prison custody by a circuit court at Cape Coast for allegedly defiling two school girls aged 12 and 14 years.
He pleaded not guilty and would reappear on Wednesday 2 march. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court, presided over by Mr. Mustapha Logoh, that the accused and the victims live in the same house at Brofoyedur a suburb of Cape Coast, and that the girls, normally run errands for him.
He said sometime last month, the accused sent the younger girl to buy him a bottle of Malta Guinness, and asked her to send it to his room when she returned, which she did, and Quansah immediately followed and pushed her on his bed and sexually abused her.
Inspector Chief Amonoo alleged that afterwards, Quansah warned the girl not to tell anyone.
He said during that same month, he borrowed and broke a ruler belonging to the elder girl, who asked him to replace it. He said Quansah, bought her a new ruler, but kept it in his room and asked the victim to go for it there and he sexually abused her when she did and warned her not to tell anybody.
Chief inspector Amonoo said a week later, whiles in school, the class teacher of the 12-year-old, questioned the pupils as to whether any of them had ever had sex before, and when it got to the turn of the victim, she narrated her ordeal.
Inspector Amonoo said when they got home, many of the parents in the house where the two girls live, had gotten wind of what had happened in school, and questioned their children and in the process, the 14-year old girl informed her father that Quansah had sexually abused her. He said a report was made to the police on February 3, and the accused was arrested and that medical reports issued on the victims, indicated that their hymen had been broken.
