Grant to release Black Stars squad on Tuesday

Media reports indicate that Black Stars Coach, Avram Grant will release his squad for Ghana’s AFCON 2017 Qualifier double header against Mozambique on Tuesday March 13, 2016.

The 23-man squad is expected to include some local outfield players following calls by a section of football fans, pundits and stakeholders on the Israeli to give players in the Ghana Premier League a chance to prove their worth with the Black Stars.

The former Chelsea and West Ham United trainer returned to Ghana last week and was at the Tema Park to witness at first hand some the much talked about quality players in the Ghana Premier League when Inter Allies drew 2-2 with newly promoted Dreams FC.

Grant met the Ghana Football Association on Wednesday at the Alisa Hotel in Accra and was asked to submit his annual program for the Black Stars next week.

He is expected to be at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday as Hearts of Oak host Bechem United before releasing his squad for the Mozambique clash on next Tuesday.

The Black Stars will play host their Mozambiquean counterpart on Thursday March 24 at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Mozambique for the return leg three days after.

Ghana currently lie top of Group H of the AFCON 2017 Qualifiers with 6 points. they will qualify to the Gabon showpiece if they win the two legged tie with Mozambique and results between fellow group opponent Rwanda and Maurtius go in their favour
