The NDC Amsterdam Branch, is calling on Ghanaian Youths across the board to stand up against the rotten utterances by so called youth leaders /youth organizers , because youth leaders are supposed to mentor, excite and motivate young people with realistic innovative ideas that can help shape as well as enhance the lives of the youth and their future. Our problem today as a country is that , so-called leaders that have the platform and opportunity to bring change are rather using the platform to ridicule their own intelligence and therefore leaving the youth un-challenged, un-motivated and dis-advantaged.
Speaking on local internet radio, the NDC Interim Chairperson Mr. Dodoo said the Government is purging itself to remedy the realities and challenges of Ghanaians, and the last thing it needs is the “Cry Baby Cry Wolf” mentality of the opposition party (NPP), whose main aim is to discredit anything and everything the current government does, just to score political points that doesn’t have any added value to the real developmental progress/issues of our nation as a whole. When asked what he thought about the current state of our economy, Mr. Dodoo said he agreed times are challenging for the average Ghanaian but that’s a result of the fine tuning measures of the government which is aimed at greater good of the Ghanaian people. Ghana is still rated a B1 Country on the Economy Growth scale of countries and that is an extremely good indication for the path the Government of Ghana is taking. Our enviable track record of a functional and peaceful democracy, natural resources, framework of market oriented policies and positive relations with IFIs , positions Ghana on a developmental path that would yield the desired results if our leaders (including youth leaders like Akomea of the NPP) do not just talk for talking sake, but have what it takes to effectively communicate to our people why some changes in our behavior as a people in necessary to impact change.
Mr. Dodoo went on to say that he has every confidence in the leadership team of the government, and admires the courage to shuffle ministers and placing people with the right skill-sets and competencies in sectors of the economy that would best benefit the people of Ghana. He again called on the youth to stand up to the so called stalwarts or in his words ‘Political Furnitures” like Akomea. The needs of the Youth has to be highlighted and addressed by government and has to be the integral ingredient for development through proper dialoguing, Mr Dodoo therefore charged the Ministry of Information , Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare to come together by creating a “Tri-Port” portal (project) which would educate the youth on developmental projects that government has ear-marked in its developmental plan, use the innovative ideas of the youth to drive these projects, and above all use the skill-sets and knowledge resource of the youth to educate Ghanaians at large on developmental matters.
He finally urged NDC branches around the Globe to start dialoguing with government, and holding government responsible and accountable to decisions taken or decisions not taken for the greater good of Ghana.
