The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has lamented the prevailing corruption under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
Speaking during the 2024 campaign launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, the lawmaker emphasized that President Akufo-Addo is presiding over “blatant corruption.”
“Corruption has been presided over by this government. Today, we promise John Mahama that we will set the bar high with zero tolerance for corruption. The people of Ghana hold the NDC to the highest standards.
“We must hold onto principles that can’t be bought with money. We must make sure none of our agents can be bought,” Madam Agyeman-Rawlings stated.
She continued: “Let’s protect the ballot boxes. Do not allow yourself to be misled by the money people will bring your way.”
The NDC party has indicated that the 2024 election campaign will follow a new approach, which will include a door-to-door strategy.
The NDC will present its platform, which will include important proposals such as the export of nurses to combat unemployment among healthcare workers, the elimination of ex-gratia, and a 24-hour economy.
The party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and other prominent figures, including National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, and members of the Council of Elders, will be present at the ceremony.
