NDC Chairman and two others sued for defamation in Takoradi

Western Regional Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Japhet Baidoe has sued his Regional Chairman Michael Aidoo and 2 others for defamation at the the Sekondi High Court in Western Region.

The two others include: Famous Tumi Acquah the Western Regional Communication Officer and a party member Kwesi Dick.

In his statement of claim, the plaintiff Japhet Baidoe says on Sunday April 28, 2017, the defendants held a meeting with some constituency chairmen of the party and made claims the he had diverted party flags worth three hundred thousand Ghana cedis and lodged the proceeds in his bank account.

Meanwhile, Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene Gyan is in possession of a correspondence signed by the western regional communications officer, Famous Tumi Acquah suspending the western regional organizer and his assistant pending disciplinary action for possession and non disclosure of party items as well as diversity of party items.

The suspension was a decision taken at a regional executive committee (REC) meeting on Sunday April 28, 2017 with 25 members being present to make up the quorum of 19 members.
