The fate of citizen vigilante and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Martin BK Amidu is expected to be known in 30 days as the disciplinary committee of the party has taken over a petition filed against him.
Two members of the party National Democratic Congress (ND), Evans Amankwah and Abigail Elom Mensah have petitioned the party’s hierarchy demanding that sanctions be applied against Martin Amidu for breaching some regulations of the party through his utterances that have subjected the party to public ridicule.
Though Mr Amidu has called a bluff of the petitioners stating that their petition is immoral because they chose to publish their petition to the press to court cheap popularity in the interim, Mr Koku Anyidoho disclosed that the processes have begun.
“We have received a petition against him at the National Secretariat and we have handed it over the disciplinary committee of the party. It got to the party’s headquarters last Tuesday and on Thursday I acted on it on behalf of the General Secretary and forwarded it to the Disciplinary Committee. They have 30 days to act and submit the report back to us to also act on after looking into the merit of the claims made against him”, he revealed on Okay FM.
The Deputy NDC General Secretary however refused to comment further on the matter indicating that his comments on the matter could be termed as prejudicial.
“Since the Disciplinary Committee of the party has been given the mandate to work on the petition, I do not think I have any right to comment on the outcome because I do not know what it will be”, he added.
