The Ghana Police Service has served an update on Abraham Ato Anan, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2 Vice Chairman in the Efutu constituency.
According to the police, Anan is well and home with family; contrary to reports, his whereabouts were not known.
This was in a Thursday, December 12, 2024, statement posted on the service’s Facebook.
“With regards to the incident involving the whereabouts of the Efutu National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency 2nd Vice-Chairman, Abraham Ato Anan, we wish to state that the chairman is in good health and with his family and in contact with the Police,” the Dr George Akuffo Dampare-led service said.
“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard the misinformation and disinformation regarding his whereabouts,” the police urged.
“Once again, we want to assure the public that the Police remain committed to ensuring peace, security, law and order in the country,” the police emphasised.
When Ghana went to the polls on Saturday, December 7, news broke that Ato Anan had been attacked while monitoring the elections in Winneba. When he was taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries, he was again attacked and carried away, according to information picked up by TV3’s Central regional correspondent, Akwasi Addo.
