NDC Europe Hosts Child Rights Seminar in Stockholm

NDC Europe on the 12th OF December will host a Child Rights Seminar in Stockholm, Sweden to discuss and explore options for the Party to enhance its manifesto and eliminate the incidence of Child Sexual exploitation in Ghana. The Seminar is hosted in collaboration with the World Ambassador’s of Hope Foundation based in Stockholm, Sweden.

NDC Europe is a network of NDC branches in Europe which presently includes Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway and Italy. It aims to strengthen the structures of the NDC Party in Europe and Ghana, build our alliances with mainstream EU Socialist Parties with the aim of enhancing the Democracy and Governance system in Ghana

The Seminar is part of a Project to discuss the incidence of Child Sexual Exploitation and explore Policy options to enhance the Party structures in the various Districts and Regions in Ghana to eliminate the incidence and enhance Child Rights across Communities in Ghana. The Project is being organized in collaboration with the Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Walewale Constituency in the Northern Region and Korle-Wogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region. NDC Europe members have funded a Study in the 3 Constituencies to study the phenomenon. Part of the Study results will be disseminated at the Seminar in Stockholm followed by another in Accra.

Amongst the Speakers at the Seminar includes Margaret Gärding- a Human and Child Rights Specialists from the Univ of Stockholm, Joe Frans- Former Member of the Swedish Parliament, Millicent Duphey - NDC Norway Women’s Organiser, Ms. Ursula D Almeida-NDC Hamburg, Dr. Olawale Ismail-Security Governance Expert on Africa, Mrs. Igali, wife of the Nigerian Ambassador to the Nordic Countries and Mrs. Aku Angela Tarras Wahlberg – NDC Sweden Women’s Organizer and Chief Executive Officer of World Ambassador’s of Hope Foundation.

The Seminar is expected to be attended by other African Communities in Sweden including Cameroonian Association, Ivory Coast Union Association, Nigerian Union Association, Network of Africans Association (NAV) & many other concerned Organizations and other NDC Europe Members.
