NDC Ireland criticizes Rawlings-Nana Addo meeting

The former president Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings welcomed the NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwah to his residence for a chat, a move purported to have been initiated by the NPP flag bearer.

This has come to the executives of The Ireland branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a big surprise because the meeting is not consistent with facts on the ground. In the first place, the former president has strongly criticized the late president Mills for not prosecuting the NPP officials, with particular emphasis on ex Pres Kuffuor and Nana Addo. To make it worse, it was during Nana Addo's time as foreign minister that the NPP government stripped Mr. Rawlings of his diplomatic status.

Therefore, claiming to have agreed on the need for collaborative efforts to safeguard the nation's peace and stability is nothing but a meeting of convennience especially on Nana Addo's part, to take undue advantage of former Pres Rawlings' charisma to attract if not all, some of his supporters to the NPP camp.

We are therefore urging all lovers of peace and prosperity in Ghana to consider the recent meeting as null and void with no susbsance worthy of advancing Ghana to any worthy cause. We also advice our NDC counterparts to watch out for similar moves of convennience by the NPP, in their desperate move to win the elections and rule the country at all cost.

We also want to advice our NDC counterparts to remain resolute to uphold the principles on which the NDC party was formed, as Ghanaians are becoming more literate by the day will be able to read in between lines and make their own informed decision.
