Member of Parliament for Adenta Constituency Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore has lashed out at the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hannah Serwaa Tetteh, and other government functionaries for commenting on the cocaine saga, claiming that has diverted attention from more important national matters.
“I don’t see the reason why a minister or ambassador will come out and explain interrogations or excerpts of the interrogations; where they went and met the lady in custody,” he said.
“It is not necessary at all,” he stressed.
Mr Ashie Moore was speaking to TV3’s Evelyn Tengmaa on Wednesday, November 26, when he expressed these sentiments.
The arrest of Nayele Ametefe has dominated media headlines in Ghana with legislators found on Tuesday trading accusations as to which party purveys more in illicit drugs.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP lambasted the Minority in Parliament for politicising the issue.
He called for a bipartisan inquiry into the issue as it affects the country’s image and not that of one political party.
“It is very shameful and disgraceful.”
