PROFESSOR KASSIM Kasanga, Minister of Lands and Forestry, has predicted that many members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would see the difference between the NPP and NDC governments by the end of the four-year term of the government.
He emphasised that the positive difference the NDC members would see in the NPP will make them vote massively for the party (NPP) in the 2004 election.
The NPP does not discriminate against any person or group, “we take care of everybody devoid of his or her background”, he explained
Professor Kasanga who made these remarks at a national rally held at Koforidua at the week-end to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the NPP, observed that the NDC during the previous government, cheated the good people of Ghana.
He stated that the NPP will entertain such cheats who retarded the progress of the economy.
He hinted that from now onwards, Timber concession rights would be tendered for to enable the right people (resourced) get the job to do for the benefit of all.
He observed that chiefs and their people cannot be left out in the utilisation of the natural resources that are in their areas of jurisdiction.
He noted that he will ensure that government and public lands do not get into private hands for misuse.
The Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs, Mrs Gladys Asmah, disclosed that her ministry has disbursed ?500,000 each to 12,000 women in farming communities.
She also revealed that her ministry has deposited ?147 million into banks in Koforidua to be disbursed to women farmers in the Eastern region.
She observed that as God did not return Israelites to Egypt as slaves, but took them to the promised land, so will the NPP give Ghana the real Positive Change it promised, Isha Allah! Mrs Gladys Asmah acknowledged that NPP is the only government that has the welfare of women at heart.
Mrs Asmah recalled the tribulations that women went through during the reign of the (P) NDC.
She assured women that NPP will not let them down, adding that, the government need the continual support of women.
Other speakers at the rally included the Senior Minister, Hon J.H. Mensah, Hon Kan Dapaah, Energy Minister and Mr Ishmael Ashitey, MP for Tema East and Minister in charge of Fisheries.
