NDC – New York Congratulates JJ

NDC – New York Congratulates Ex- President Jerry John Rawlings and other African achievers.
The newly elected executives and the entire membership of the National Democratic Congress, New York branch wish to join the millions of Africans across the world in congratulating our founder, Former, President Jerry John Rawlings for his extraordinary achievement over the years.
Firstly, the former president was named as one of the 50 icons in Africa’s history. Secondly, he was recently appointment as AU’s Special envoy to Somalia to help bring lasting peace to the region. These achievements has come to us as no surprise as it reinforces the former president’s contribution to strengthening the democracy of not just Ghana, but the entire continent of Africa and the world at large.
In addition, the former president has not only demonstrated his capabilities in strengthening the democracy of the country and continent but also lead various campaigns for justice as a measure to promote good governance. It is no doubt that during the rule of the NDC under Former President Rawlings, Ghana embraced democracy and set various stages for accountable leadership, however, this legacy was destroyed by the NPP which took over in 2000. For the fear of the fact that most of its members will fall victims to the justice that the Ex-President have always advocated for, they have adopted politics of untruthfulness in other to destruct the good people of Ghana from hearing the truth.
The recent achievement of the Former President is a testimony of how Africans have listened and adored his calls for justice in dealing with corrupted leaders – government officials who are holding back the development of Africa.
It is there fore time for Ghanaians to read meaning into the unnecessary issues raised by the opposition against the ruling NDC and its leaders. The NPP is only attempting to divert the minds of Ghanaians from the fact that they are responsible for crippling our country’s economy. It is no doubt that if given another opportunity, the NPP will privatize the oxygen that we breathe and we have no doubts that Ghanaians would not want to see it happen.
The truth should not just be told to our present generation, but to other generations yet to come that once we had dynamic leaders who have become icons. They include Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Dr. Kofi Annan and Former President, Jerry John Rawlings. We indeed congratulate all these icons. We also congratulate Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas who is to be honored with the prestigious German Africa Award by the German Africa Foundation.
