NDC Picks 'Junior JJ' for Dome Kwabenya Seat

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Mr. Isaac Adama alias Junior Jerry John Rawlings to contest the newly created Dome Kwabenya constituency seat in the Greater Accra region for the December election.

Mr Adama, a 38- year old accountant and a businessman was given the nod to contest the seat against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) old war horse Professor Mike Ocquaye after he was declared unopposed.

Mr. Adama is affectionately called by his peers as Junior JJ because of his complexion, structure and charisma. He told The Chronicle in an interview that he had come to give hope to the hopeless youth in the constituency who had been neglected by the NPP government.

He maintained, " I understand the challenges affecting the youth today, being a youth myself. I would therefore work with them for 24 hours to overcome these challenges and give them a better future."

Mr. Adama has, therefore, appealed to the youth in the constituency to vote for him and Professor Mills of the NDC in the forthcoming election to wrest power from the NPP government so they would have a better future.

Mr. Kofi Amewu who said he was a member of the NPP but had defected to the NDC said Professor Ocquaye should retire from politics and give the younger generation a chance. " If you make any mistake and vote for Professor Ocquaye, he may not survive the four years in office, so vote Mr. Adama, a youngster who has a lot of years in him," he asserted.

Professor Kofi Awoonor who is the Chairman of the constituency, maintained that the electorate had two horses: the NDC and NPP and should judge for themselves which was worth riding.

He added that it was the will of God that the NPP took power and ruled the nation so that the people would know the type of people they were as they were making unfounded and baseless allegations while in opposition.

He, therefore, appealed to the electorate to vote massively for the NDC.
