Scores of delegates of the National Democratic Congress in the Ho Central Constituency have been left frustrated, as they could not find their names on the party’s register.

The delegates have thus been denied the opportunity to take part in the election of a presidential candidate for the NDC at the constituency polling centre.

Speaking to Ghanaweb, some of the delegates indicated they are card bearing members, hence could not understand why their names were not captured in the register compiled for the exercise.

“I am a registered card bearing member of the NDC. I have taken part in previous exercises of this nature, so I am shocked my name is not found on the album”, a depressed delegate said.

“I would have no option than to leave the centre if they won’t allow me to vote”, said another.

However, the Ho Central Constituency Secretary, Stanley Glatey, stated the omission of names of some delegates is unfortunate but added steps are being taken to rectify the issue and allow them to take part in the exercise.

He explained “we forwarded the names to Accra for the register to be prepared, because the names were more than thousand, they divided it into two. So in doing this, they omitted three of the branches and two branches had their names swapped.”

“We are working on the original printout with us, divide it, the Chairman will endorse it and have it approve by the agents, and that will be used”, he stressed.

However, the voting process at the Center has been peaceful with 10 police officers maintaining sanity at the centre.
