NDC Polls: Nobody pelted water or hooted at me – A.B.A Fuseini

Sagnarigu MP Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has dismissed reports that he was pelted with water by his constituents during the NDC constituency elections over the weekend.

There are reports that the MP, who is famous for his proverbs, was hooted at by his constituents as he toured the communities. The indigenes are reported to have demanded the first-term MP to provide them with jobs instead of the proverbs he has come to be known with.

Reacting to the reports, Alhaji Fuseini said although there is the need for jobs in the constituency, the constituents do not blame him for the lack of it.

“When the rain falls on you, it is a sign of blessing. So if someone pours water on you…it is a blessing. At the elections ground, nothing touched me. No object touched me. The congress started very peacefully. I even had the chance to speak to my people. If sachet water was pelted then I wasn’t the target if you ask me. Demand for jobs is something that is done. There are times constituents come to MPs for jobs. My constituents are solidly behind me,” he told Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Monday.

The constituency elections for the Sagnarigu will be held tomorrow Tuesday June, 26.

Meanwhile, former President John Dramani Mahama has urged all newly elected constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress to unite and focus on victory in the 2020 elections.

In a congratulatory message after the NDC constituency elections, the former President also asked unsuccessful aspirants to maintain their support for the party saying “your contributions are still very much needed by the party and I salute you for offering yourselves to serve. You are all winners.”

“Your victory serves as inspiration to the millions of members and followers of our party. I entreat you to serve with humility, commitment and hardwork to ensure victory in 2020.

He added: “To all those who were unsuccessful in the elections, your contributions are still very much needed by the party and I salute you for offering yourselves to serve. You are all winners.

“As the Party take steps to resolve all outstanding issues including Constituencies that had their elections postponed, I call on the rank and file of the party to stay united and focused on the noble goal of Victory 2020”.
