NDC Presidential Candidate tours Central Region

Winneba (C/R) Nov. 18 GNA - The National Democratic Party (NDC) Presidential Candidate, Professor John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday addressed a rally at the Adansi Park in Winneba to start a three-day campaign tour of parts of the Central Region.

Prof. Mills is expected to address NDC rallies at Agona, Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Assin South and Assin North and the Upper Denkyira West constituencies where he would introduce the respective Parliamentary Candidates to the electorate.

Mr Kwamana Ahowi, Director of Research; Mr Ato Ahowi, and Dr Don Arthur, both leading members of the Party and Dr Ato Quarshie, Central Regional Chairman of NDC and other NDC activists, are accompanying Professor Mills.

Addressing the rally, Professor Atta Mills told fishermen that an NDC government would revive the fishing industry by making inputs affordable to them, saying that during their regime the cost of Yamaha 40 outboard motor machine was being sold at 10 million cedis on credit to fishermen.

According to him the machine was being sold at present to fishermen at 20 million cedis on cash down basis by the NPP government because it did not think about the welfare of the fishermen and their dependents. He said if the Party were voted into power it would make education very affordable for everybody and, therefore, appealed to Ghanaians to vote back the Party into power now that they had seen that the NPP administration had failed to deliver.

Prof. Mills told supporters of the Party to be vigilant on the Election Day and ensure that they tolerated the views of supporters of other parties to enable the nation to have a peaceful election devoid of rancour and intimidation.

He urged the people of Winneba to vote massively for the Party because it had their welfare at heart. He mentioned the construction of the Winneba Water Works that the NDC undertook with a Dutch Government assistance to solve their perennial water problem.

He later introduced Mr Mike Allan Hammah, the Parliamentary candidates for the Constituency to the people and urged them to vote massively for him to continue his good works to develop the area.
