The minority in parliament today announced that it intends to ask the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate a gift of 41 million cedis meant for the renovation of President J.A. Kufuor's house.
Mr Alban Bagbin, the minority leader, said they want CHRAJ to find out who Kwame Marfo, the person known to have donated the money, is, his income, whether he pays tax and what sort of renovations were carried out on the president's private house.
In response, Mr Emille Short, CHRAJ commissioner, says for his commission to act, the minority has to be specific: they must send a firm complaint, tabulating all allegations.
