Nana Addo for NPP is a Gifted Victory for NDC-UK/Ireland Chairman
The Chairman of the Uk/Ireland branch of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, Mr. Alex Segbefia has said that the election of Nana Akuffo Addo as the flag bearer of the NPP is a proof of his party’s victory in 2008 elections.
He said the 2008 general elections would be about issues and achievements of the parties and candidates leading them “and when it comes to that, ‘Nana Akuffo Addo is no match to Professor John Evans Atta Mills”.
He made this remark in an interview with Ghana web last night in London during an end of year get-together in East London.
Mr. Segbefia who returned from Ghana to his base in London said recently when he went to Ghana; he realized that the electorates are tied of the NPP.
He added that he saw signals that resemble the precedence of NDC’s exit in 2000 and therefore is very confident that Ghanaians have decided to restore the governance of the NDC as it was better than the current administration of the NPP.
“Nana Akuffo Addo and Professor Mills were classmates so it makes it easier for one to compare the two. Whiles Nana Addo has the tendency for vindictiveness, the other has the accolades of ‘Asomdwehene’ for his humility. We can go on and on”
He assured all NDC faithfuls and Ghanaians in general to braze themselves for victory.
He however noted that the NDC needs to be cautious because the NPP is scared of its own shadow hence would not relinquish power easily.
Mr. Segbefia urged all in the NDC to continue to echo the sounds of hope and a better NDC government to all and sundry.
On his part, the Youth Organizer of the branch buttress the Chairman’s calls for hard work and pointed out that even though Nana Akuffo Addo, the NPP’s candidate is ‘limping’ the NPP will face them wife tough challenge.
He cautioned the NPP to be mindful of the fact that Ghanaian electorates will not succumb their mandate to their vote buying, adding that the up-coming campaign should be free and fair.
