NDC USA Is Encouraged By Peformance Of President Mills

; REBUFFS NPP USA

The NDC USA congratulates the people of the Upper East Region as they celebrate the region’s 50th Anniversary. Indeed the people of the region deserve to be commended for preserving their rich cultural heritage; and for maintaining and promoting peace and understanding amongst themselves. It is commendable that notwithstanding the history of tribal conflict in Bawku, the people have been able to submit to the dictates of rule of law and sustained an amicable atmosphere of tolerance and co-operation. The NDC USA also wishes to express our concern for all those living in areas that were impacted by the recent floods. We join the Mills’ administration in its concern and desire to comfort all citizens who have suffered losses as a result of the floods. We also wish to express the Chapter’s gratitude to government for its efforts in alleviating any suffering and loss that has occurred as a result of the floods.
Following the laudable call for decorum and civility to be adhered to, during debates of national significance by the President, H. E. Prof. J. E.A Mills, we of the NDC USA have been encouraged to note that the use of pejorative, degrading and odious language has seen a significant decrease on the national landscape. Clearly, the mainstream of Ghanaian society is in agreement with the President on this issue. One group of Ghanaians, who have not heeded the wisdom of the President, is the NPP USA. The articles that NPP USA have been responsible for in the recent past, have titles with a shocking and embarrassing level of invectiveness, only surpassed on the Ghanaian political landscape by the content of these articles. “Mills Has Eyes but Cannot See”; “Rawlings Is a Master of Falsehood”; and “Rawlings Is Delusional” to cite a few, generally they contain a plethora of pejoratives, uncivil and unnecessary in the national conversation of our dear country. Clearly, the NPP USA substitutes profligacy for proficiency, quantity for quality and ideological bias for logical construct and fact.
The NDC USA wishes to encourage the President, H.E Prof. J. E. A. Mills to continue to appeal to the better angels of the wonderful people of Ghana. We salute him as he continues to offer purposeful and visionary leadership which will lead to solving problems with inadequate infrastructure in the education and the transportation sector. We note that as a result of his good management of the economy the Ghanaian economy has witnessed sustained and increased growth, whilst inflation continues to plummet. The NDC USA seizes this opportunity to congratulate the President on a successful and rewarding trip to China, Japan and Brazil, which saw Ghana receiving a historically positive response from all the countries visited. The truly historic credit facilities that were made available to Ghana reflect the country’s continuing importance as a destination for foreign investment and consequently good paying jobs, and the trust that global leaders have of the unquestionable integrity of the leadership that Ghana presently has.

The NPP USA should address the millions of the tax payers’ revenue recklessly squandered by the Ghana at 50th anniversary committee during the tenure of the NPP led government before they preach about good governance anyone.
We remain confident that the good people of Ghana continue to hold the Government of President Mills and the NDC as governing party in the highest regard; this is the case notwithstanding the politics of insults, and diversion by groups like NPP USA.
