NDC USA Remains Confident In The Leadership Of President Mahama

- SAYS NDC USA SECRETARY.

The NDC USA wishes to express its continued solidarity and support for the Presidency of His Excellency John Mahama notwithstanding recent occurrences on the political landscape of Ghana such as the formation of the National Democratic Party and the choosing of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings as the flagbearer of the party. The NDC USA chapter wishes to announce to the all Ghanaians and to the mother party that the member branches and the leadership of NDC USA remain solidly behind President Mahama’s bid for re-election.
Reports from meetings of member branches across the United States speak to a resurgent and encouraged party, unperturbed by the formation of the National Democratic Party. Our members are full of enthusiasm for President Mahama’s candidature and our meeting rooms are always filled with new members requesting to join the great Akatamanso family.
The NDC led administration has made great strides in ensuring that the deficit in physical infrastructure needed for successfully educating Ghanaian students has been reduced by the construction of new schools in elementary, secondary and tertiary education. Under the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’, over 1000 elementary schools have been built, over 500 secondary schools have been rehabilitated or completely constructed anew and two universities have been established. The famous Latin adage, “Facta non verba”, is our advice to all Ghanaians, it means Deeds and not Words! The NDC record on education is exemplary and unprecedented; the NPP is only making promises as a gimmick to get into power. The NPP is like a poultry farmer who buys chicks for his poultry farm without building coops where the poor chicks will be kept. In Ghana the problem with education is that there remains a serious infrastructural deficit. It is better to have affordable education that is available than to have free education which is unavailable because ther are no schools.
Concerning recent statements attributable to President Rawlings at the NDP event in Kumasi, the NDC USA urges calm, sober reflection and unity within the ranks of our membership and the party at large. All Ghanaians are aware that notwithstanding the noise, the NDP cannot be a serious political party. Formed a handful of days before the general elections it cannot make any significant impact on the elections notwithstanding the names of the former first couple that are associated with it, because time is an essential component in the forming and maturing of all aspects of organization for political parties.
We reiterate the call for all NDC USA to remain focused on working for the victory of President Mahama and the NDC party.
