NDC Virginia Salutes Professor Mills, Ghanaians!

It has been said that “If everything has been done and the die is cast, no amount of witchery or prayers can ever prevent the crossing of Rubicon…the votes have been cast…Tain is over..… and it is therefore evident that the crossing of Rubicon must follow as a matter of natural sequence”.

Ghanaians have lived up to our creed once again that “God Bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong...…. And help us to resist oppressors' rule with all our will and might for evermore”.

This historic election is finally over and a victory had been handed to Professor Mills and the NDC. This victory is not only for Professor Mills and the NDC but a victory for mother Ghana.

We the executives and members of NDC Virginia therefore salute Ghanaians for their bravery in the face of terror and intimidation that they endured for the past 8 years, mostly especially for the last one month. Truth has prevailed finally and NDC Virginia can once again paraphrase what Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah said some 50 years ago: “At long last the ‘voting’ is over, Ghana our beloved country is free once again”.

Ghanaians have no doubt demonstrated their political maturity. They once again sent the clear signal that they would not be taken for granted any longer and that money cannot buy their consciences and votes despite the untold hardships.

We are feverishly looking forward to the rule of Asomdwehene Fiifi Professor Evans Atta-Mills, The President-Elect of the Republic of Ghana. Professor Mills, the President-Elect, will undoubtedly be the President for all Ghanaians and not just for a section of Ghanaians.

During our time in opposition, Professor Mills, the then opposition leader, provided the people of Ghana constructive alternatives to the policies of Kufour’s administration. It is therefore our hope that Akufo Addo and the entire leadership of the opposition will be constructive and not otherwise, in order to move Ghana to the next level.

As we of the NDC Virginia predicted a year ago, when NPP had their primaries, Ghana needs a vibrant and dynamic opposition leader and Akuffo Addo fits the profile.

God Bless You All and Long Live Ghana!
