NDC Youth Accuses Elizabeth Ohene of Double Standard

The youth of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the government spokesperson, Ms. Elizabeth Ohene's reportage as inconsistent and of a double standard, reports the Free Press.

Ms Ohene who assumed office less than three months ago was given this description at a press conference in Accra last Monday. A statement issued at the conference warned that; "She has to be chameleon tactics".

On President Kufuor's visit to Togo, she initially stated that the President was invited to Togo as Guest of Honour. Later when the public became critical of the visit, she changed over to say it was "mere coincidence".

Again the first statement she issued in connection with the 46,000 dollars scandal involving the dismissed Minister of Youth and Sports, Mallam Issifu Isa was to the effect that the minister had tendered his resignation, which the President was considering. After the Ex-Minister challenged her reportage, she shifted to a new position. The statement said this was unbecoming of a person occupying the high office of a Minister of State. The statement also described Kufuor's government policies as amateur.
