NDC Youth delegation attends ANC rally

Accra, May 16, GNA - A three-member NDC youth delegation, which attended the national rally of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday, has held talks with South African President Jacob Zuma.

The delegation comprising, Mr Ludwig Akpene Hlodze, National Youth Organiser, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, National Organiser and Ms Margaret Chiravira, Deputy National Women's Organiser, also delivered a special message from President John Evans Atta Mills to President Zuma.

A statement issued in Accra on Monday said the delegation thanked Mr Zuma for the invitation to attend the ANC rally.

The rally, which was held on Sunday, was organized to climax the electioneering campaign and to introduce the contestants in that country's May 18 election to the electorates.

It was addressed by President Zuma and the ANC Youth League President, Julius Malema.

South Africa goes to the polls on May 18 to elect representatives at the local levels.

The statement said Mr Hlodze also held discussions with his South African counterpart, Mr Malema, at which they both agreed to work together towards enhancing the fortunes of the youth front in their respective parties.

The statement said the National Youth Organizer would continue to Namibia to attend the African-China Young Leaders' Forum, scheduled for May 20 to 23, in Windhoek.
