The opposition National Democracy Congress (NDC), has accused President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of claiming credit for achievements of former President John Dramani citing the Ekumfi pineapple processing factory in the Central Region meant to boost economic activities in the district as an example.

Last week, President Nana Addo stormed hometown of President John Evans Atta Mills to cut the sod for the construction work on a pineapple juice factory as part of his “one district one factory policy”.

But NDC executives in the Ekumfi constituency expressed shocked about President Nana Addo’s statement to develop Ekumfi constituency to honor late President Mills.

They reminded the ruling party that at the apex of 2008 campaigns, Nana Addo and his party activists never spared the only person from Ekumfi and Central Region to become President of Ghana from unnecessary harsh, uncalled for personal attacks wickedness indicating that Ghanaians have not forgotten how Nana Addo himself led vitriolic personal attacks and name calling against late President Mills.

The angry NDC executives said if Nana Addo and his party members have forgotten all the unfortunate attacks on late President Mills they have not.

“If he and his party have so soon forgotten, we the people of Ekumfi and Central Region haven’t forgotten”, they stated

According to them, President Nana Addo’ statement that he will develop Ekumfi out of his association with late President Prof Mills is just one of his usual empty political rhetoric.

They, therefore, observed that people of Ekumfi will always be grateful to the NDC for almost every major development that can be found in the district including the creation of Ekumfi district assembly, construction of a dam and water works, construction of a rest stop at Eyisam among others.

The construction of Senior High School at Otuam, construction of a polyclinic at Ekumfi Narkwa, expansion of water to cover many towns, an extension of electricity to cover many towns, construction of number roads they added remain legacies of the Mahama led administration.
