NDC calls for clean campaign

Accra, Sept. 29, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Friday urged its presidential aspirants and their supporters to campaign with circumspection and be civil in their pronouncements during the process leading to December 2006 Delegates Congress.

A communiqu=E9 issued at the end of the first meeting of NDC Inter-Aspirants Committee called on all aspirants and their campaign teams to be civil and desist from negative name-calling in campaigning to avoid any conflicts.

The Communiqu=E9 singed by Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, Acting General Secretary of NDC, also urged all aspirants and their campaign committee members to report all complaints to the Inter-Aspirants Committee under the chairmanship of the NDC National Chairman Dr Kwabena Adjei for redress.

"All aspirants and their campaign committee members should desist from deliberate provocative statements against their opponents," the communiqu=E9 stated.

The four presidential aspirants were represented by Mr Eric Ametor Quarmyne for Dr Spio-Garbrah; Vice Admiral E. O. Owusu-Ansah for Mr Eddie Annan; Mr Kobby Acheampong for Professor John Evans Attah Mills and Alhaji Razak for Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu.
