NDC commends government

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region has commended the government for establishing the Wuako Commission to investigate the Yendi Chieftaincy conflict.

The commendation was contained in a statement to the press on a recent tour by the Regional Secretary of the party, Alhaji Abdulai Haruna, to constituencies in the eastern corridors of the region. The constituencies are Yendi, Mion, Cherepone and Saboba.

Alhaji Haruna hoped that the work of the committee would be completed early to help bring sanity to Dagbon. He also used the opportunity to appeal to politicians to desist from politicising the conflict. Alhaji Haruna called on District Assemblies in the area to desist from politicising the conflict.

Alhaji Haruna called on District Assemblies in the area to desist from politicising packages for poverty alleviation by ensuring that all those who qualify were catered fro without any political considerations. He entreated the executive of the party at the various constituencies to mobilise party faithfuls to embark upon tree planting and other environmental sanitation programmes as their contribution towards nation building.

He expressed his appreciation to the people in the area for their continued support for the NDC. Alhaji Haruna said the commitment of the people to the party was indicative that the people would appreciate the various development projects by the NDC government.
