Former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Obiri Boahen, has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to submit evidence to support their allegations of discrepancies in the register at the televised Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
The private legal practitioner said the NDC engages in pedestrian and kindergarten politics.
Obiri Boahen stated that it was insulting for the NDC to have made several allegations, and yet when they had the opportunity to present their evidence to support their claims, they failed to do so.
“There is a party that hit town demanding a forensic audit of the voters’ register and demanded for the media to be allowed to cover it. But upon the opportunity granted to you, you failed to submit your evidence. We need to be serious in this country. We need to exhibit maturity and civility,” he said.
He added that you cannot hit the streets with demonstrations, and yet, when asked to submit any evidence, you failed to do so. “I call it jungle politics, day nursery politics.”
Obiri Boahen went on to state that the NDC wasted everyone’s time and has not provided any justifiable evidence, but some individuals, including academics, are in support of the baseless claims raised by the NDC.
Meanwhile, he has shot down all the election polls that have predicted victory for former President John Dramani Mahama, stating categorically that with or without election victory predictions, he was optimistic Dr. Bawumia will emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections, and no form of polls or prophecies will change that.
