NDC fabricating lies of corruption and mismanagement to get us out, like they did under Kufuor – NPP UK

NPP, NDC flags NPP, NDC flags

Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, the United Kingdom Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), claims that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is spreading falsehoods against the government, similar to what they did under former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

The lawmaker lamented that Ghana had the potential to grow significantly under the NPP if Ghanaians had kept the party in power after Kufuor’s tenure. He asserted that the NDC fabricated lies and accused the then-government of corruption, leading to the NPP being voted out despite Kufuor’s positive achievements.

Agyapong acknowledged that Ghana is facing an economic crisis, which the government is addressing, adding that even the UK, a developed country, went into a recession. He stated, “We are talking about a country that has a great system and a robust economy, yet it went into recession. That is what we are talking about. This is the situation in the United Kingdom.”

He continued, “If we were very consistent and had allowed another NPP government to stay in power after Kufuor, Ghana would have moved forward beyond this. If not for the NDC’s fabricated lies, propaganda, and falsehoods, which saw the NPP kicked out after Kufuor, we would have transformed beyond what we are seeing today. Despite all the allegations, when they took over and dragged our people to court, they could not jail anyone. That is what they are doing again.”

Agyapong praised the NPP’s achievements despite economic constraints, emphasizing that this government has performed significantly better.

“The NPP has maintained a robust economy despite all the challenges we have witnessed. The NPP has invested in massive projects, including roads, among others. But the NDC is doing the same thing today: peddling falsehoods about the NPP government mismanaging the economy and engaging in corruption.”

He concluded by urging Ghanaians to ignore the NDC’s propaganda and to continue supporting the NPP for its impressive governance that will help transform the country.
