NDC foot soldiers urged to work harder

Kumasi, August 16, GNA - Alhaji Gado Sulemana, a leading member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called for more hard work from the party's foot soldiers to ensure electoral victory in 2012.

He said they should intensify the campaign to broaden the party's support base ahead of the general election, which is a little over two years away.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Kumasi, Alhaji Gado said the recent election by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of its Presidential Candidate should be a wake up call.

He said it was time all members and supporters of the NDC rallied solidly behind the "Better Ghana Agenda" to return the government to power.

"It is only when the party retains power that its carefully thought out policies could be pursued to their logical conclusion for the benefit of all Ghanaians," he observed.

Alhaji Gado said the party's structures at all levels should be strengthened and be made functional.

He expressed the optimism that Ghanaian voters would renew the mandate of the government in the 2012 polls.
