The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has attacked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for mismanaging the country during their eight years stay in government.

According to her, the country was poorly managed from 2009 to January 7, 2017, especially in the area of the economy, resulting in severe economic problems for the populace.

She said the NDC government did not implement better policies to deal with the problems that faced the country during their reign, noting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has fixed those problems now.

“The NDC government only looked on as the power crisis, which is popularly known as ‘Dumsor’, destroyed businesses in the country until the NPP government came into office to fix the Dumsor - Samira”.

Samira made this known while addressing traders at the newly built Atonsu Market in order to know the challenges facing the market women so that she could use her office to help resolve them and make life better for the traders.

The second lady stated that the NPP government had kept faith with the electorates as the government was rapidly fulfilling all its campaign promises, which it gave, prior to the 2016 polls so as to better the lives of the citizenry.

Samira noted that the NPP government introduced positive policies such as NABCO, the Planting for Food and Jobs and other good policies.

Samira reiterated President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government was determined to work tirelessly so as to expedite Ghana’s transformation.

She, therefore, urged the citizenry to remain hopeful and support the government to deliver all of its mandates.
