National Deputy Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Jennifer Queen, has hit out at the opposition National Democratic Congress, saying the ‘Umbrella’ family is seriously facing a “leadership crisis” and that is likely to devastate party’s preparedness towards the general elections.

Her comment comes after the Former Chief Executive of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) Alex Mould, confirmed his interest in the position as a running mate to the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.

Alex Mould has indicated that, he will be the right person to compete Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia if he is chosen as the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview with Okatakyire Obeng Mensah on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra base Kingdom FM, she indicated that, “Everyone is doing all they could just to catch the eye and attention of the man [John Mahama], and also to meet his expectations in order to be chosen as his Vice Presidential Candidate.

According to her, some members of the opposition NDC respect Dr Bawumia and therefore use him as a standard in the selection of a candidate to partner their flag bearer, ex-President John Dramani Mahama as the party’s vice presidential candidate.

Jennifer Queen however stressed that, the opposition NDC has serious leadership crisis.

The ruling New Patriotic Party has been interested in the running mate position of the umbrella family going into the 2020 general elections, Some members of the ruling NPP wondered why the opposition party has still not selected their vice presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, the Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr John Dramani Mahama, has stated that his running mate will be named and introduced when the country has overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

He explained that although he had a firm idea who his running mate would be, it was not ideal to name the person when the country was still battling COVID-19
