Former Local Government Minister under ex-President Kufuor’s NPP government, Kojo Adjei Darko, has criticised the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their campaign style.

Without holding back, he criticised the NDC, especially their presidential candidate, former President John Mahama, for focusing solely on food during their political campaign.

He stated that while the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is campaigning on important issues such as the economy, health, roads, job creation, and others, the NDC is doing the opposite.

Adjei Darko, who is also the former NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani West in the Bono Region, believes that the NDC is not prepared to manage the country.

“Man must not live by bread alone. The NDC should focus on equally important things that benefit the people, whose votes they (NDC) are desperately hankering for to win the impending elections.

“So far, the NDC is only preaching about food in their political campaign to attract votes. Also, all the adverts being run by the NDC in the media are talking about food and nothing else.

“Clearly, the NDC is campaigning in a manner that seems to suggest that the country doesn’t have any challenges confronting it and that shows they are not ready for political power”, he noted.

He urged voters to vote for Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the NPP presidential candidate, as he has shown leadership qualities needed to lead the country.

He emphasised that the NDC's campaign strategy shows they are not ready for political power.

Speaking at Chiraa during a campaign visit by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as 'NAPO', the NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, Adjei Darko urged voters to reject the NDC in the upcoming polls.

He believes that John Mahama has not demonstrated the ability to continue the good work of President Akufo-Addo, and therefore should not be elected.

Adjei Darko highlighted the importance of well-planned policies and programs in managing a country, something he believes the NDC and their flagbearer lack.

“Managing a country properly to bring comfort and relief to the citizenry can only be attained by well-planned policies and programmes, and this is what the NDC and their flagbearer lacks.

“John Mahama doesn’t have a single policy or programme to lead the country into affluence that’s why when the NPP is preaching about pragmatic policies, he is also talking only about food”, he said.

He praised Dr. Bawumia's experience and leadership qualities, stating that he is the ideal candidate for the presidency.
