Member of Parliament for Bantama, Henry K. Kokofu says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama is "messing up" the economy for Nana Addo to suffer.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Hon. Kokofu noted that the Mahama-led government has resolved to ruin the economy because Ghanaians will not vote for them to retain power.
According to him, it is apparent the government's plan is to sabotage the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should the opposition party regain power in January 2017.
“NDC knows they are going to lose the elections in2016, they're thus messing up the economy so that when Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party comes to power; they will suffer…They are trying to make it extremely difficult for Nana Addo and the New Patriotic Party to govern come 2017.”
He further alleged that the current administration has already begun a process to weaken Parliament, which is the legislative body in the country.
"...the Mahama-led government must seek advice on how to govern efficiently," he added.
