NDC lacks vision and has performed poorly - NPP Communicator

President John Mahama President John Mahama

A communication team member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer John Kuma has described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a visionless party with incompetent and corrupt leaders managing the affairs of state.

He debunked claims that both the NDC and NPP are the same when it comes to the management of this country.

Speaking in an interview with Kwabena Agyapong host of Eboboba on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the private legal practitioner posited that, it will be wrong to compare the NPP to the NDC since they have different track records.

According to him, while the NDC has a track record of mismanagement, corruption, incompetence, and failure, the NPP is competent and a party with a record of good performance in government.

The NDC he noted has failed in delivering on their own manifesto promises including the construction of 10 teacher training colleges, 200 senior high schools among others. He accused the President of voting buying through the sharing of goodies.

He said, the NDC are aware they will lose and so, they are sharing money. ''Ghanaians are fed up with the NDC... If they share money, the voters will take it but will vote against them.

They have unperformed and needs to be shown the exit for a more competent government to take over. Citing examples, he said, the NDC has also failed in making the one time premium of the National Health Insurance (NHIS) a reality.

The NPP he explained, will formalise the economy, create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, create jobs, restore, in full, teacher and nurse trainee allowances in the first-quarter in office, abolish the payment of utility bills by students, right after assumption of office, increase the amount of loans under the student loan scheme and restructure and streamline its administration to enhance recovery of the loans.

The NPP he added, will immediately, right after assumption of office, reduce taxes on electricity tariffs to provide immediate relief to households and industries, establish a factory in every district to create more employment for the youth.

He described the manifesto of the NPP as a blueprint for the economic stability for the country.

The manifesto he stressed, contains the best policies that will drive this country towards growth and development. Meanwhile, Mardi Jibril Deputy National Organizer of the ruling NDC on the same show, discounted the claims by the NPP communicator stating that, the NPP lacks the credibility to accuse the party of corruption, mismanagement and failure when they own the copyright.

The NPP he indicated has the most corrupt leader as presidential candidate. He said, the party cannot be trusted to manage our economy better than what the NDC is doing. The NPP he said, failed woefully in delivering their 2000 manifesto promises.

According to him, the NPP are only deceiving Ghanaians like they did in the past. The NPP promised us heaven but they gave us hell. ''If someone is giving a promise, you will need to access the person and find out if the person is competent to deliver on them.

Most importantly, you need to test the credibility of that individual, especially if that individual has failed on the same promises in the past. The promises the NPP are giving us, were the same in 2000. They failed on these promises.''
