NDC leaders have lost touch with grassroots – Abodakpi

Chairman Aspirant of the governing National Democratic Congress, Dan Abodakpi says the current leaders of his party have lost touch with the grassroots supporters.

The former Ambassador to Malaysia therefore says he intends to fix the “disconnect” between the current leadership and the grassroots supporters if he gets elected as Chairman.

“Everybody in our party knows that there is some level of despondency at the grassroots level because, maybe expectations from their leaders are not being met the way they would have thought it will be, and this feeling I believe is coming because of the disconnect,” Abodakpi told XYZ News after launching his bid on Friday.

He says he confront the problem “frontally by reorganising and revitalising the structures of the party so that from the branch level to the constituency level, there is an organic length between them and the national leadership of the party whereby we can constantly keep the membership of our party informed about developments in Government and party leadership.”

Abodakpi will be contesting incumbent Chairman Dr Kwabena Adjei who is seeking re-election. Other names speculated to join the race include former national organiser Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
