NDC members asked to unite for victory

Accra, July 28, GNA - Mr Kwadwo Twum Boafo, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, has urged party members and supporters to embrace the call for unity to enable them win the December 2008 elections. He said unity plays an important role in the socio-economic development of every organisation and that no association could succeed without it. Mr Twum Boafo made the remarks at a meeting with NDC supporters in his constituency on Sunday. He said as the elections drew nearer, there was the need for Party members to fight for a common goal in order to wrestle power from the New Patriotic Party.

Mr Twum Boafo also advised supporters to register massively when the voter's register was re-opened on July 31. He urged them not to relent on their oars but to continue to canvass more votes for the NDC. Mr Twum Boafo alleged that some political opponents of the NDC had been going round defacing posters of the party in the Constituency and warned such people to desist from the practice. He advised all NDC fans to turn up in their numbers at the polls to vote massively for the party. Mr Augustus Tetteh, the Party's Constituency's Coordinator, advised members not to sell their votes, saying that doing so would amount to disenfranchising themselves.
