The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Pru East Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam (Lord Boam), has made significant inroads into traditional strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NDC candidate's vibrant campaign and message of hope have resonated with the electorate, leading to a surge in support for the opposition party. The NDC has won all elections, both presidential and parliamentary under the Fourth Republic.

However, the NPP is now facing a stiff challenge to maintain its grip on certain areas in the constituency ahead of the December elections. At community engagements as part of the NDC campaign, Lord Boam entered Kojo Boffour, Kachawura, Cherepo, Yeji Zongo, Parambo No-1, and other areas which are traditionally strong for the NPP. They explained that they have yet to hear one policy from their Parliamentary Candidate that offers hope for the elections.

The NDC candidate's campaign has focused on addressing issues such as unemployment, poor roads, and inadequate healthcare, which have been longstanding concerns for voters in the constituency. The candidate's message of hope and change has struck a chord with many, leading to a significant erosion of support for the NPP.
