NDC principles will still be valid after Rawlings

The ideals and principles of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party will still be valid and relevant even after the year 2000 when President Jerry John Rawlings will not be the flag bearer of the party.

Mr Francis Agbotse, Member of Parliament for Ho-West said this at the weekend when he met party executives in three zones in his constituency at Tsibu, Dededo and Vane to brief them on mid- term proceedings in Parliament.

He called on members of the party to unite and register more people into their fold for a resounding victory in the 2000 elections.

The MP said to check environmental degradation and wastage of wood, the use of chain-saw for felling and cutting trees into lumber has been outlawed by the timber act.

Mr Agbotse said the government will instead provide mobile saw-mills to district assemblies and therefore called on all chain-saw operators to register with their district assemblies so that they can the facility.
