The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Bantama Constituency, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has denied claims that the NPP was plotting to rig the 2020 polls.

He has therefore labeled as “very weak”, the opposition National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) claims that the ruling NPP intends in rig by altering the voters register.

“The NDCs claim that some officials of the Births and Deaths Registry in the Volta Region have been transferred and so the NPP will rig the 2020 polls is weak.

“It is not proper for the NDC to conclude that the transfer of somebody, who doesn’t have anything to do with the polls, means the NPP will rig 2020 elections”.

The lawmaker said it is not possible for any political party in the country to rig polls nowadays, and called on the public to ignore the allegations.

According to him, the NPP is aware that Ghanaians are discerning and that it is only through better policies and programmes that they can retain power.

Hon Aboagye, who insisted that the NPP had never dreamt or planned of winning the 2020 polls through rigging, rather accused the NDC of peddling lies.

“The stabilized economy, good governance, free Senior High School (SHS), restoration of teacher’s allowance, among others, will win the 2020 for NPP”.
