The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Abass Nurudeen, joined forces with the Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye, constituency executives, and party elders to embark on a door-to-door campaign in the surrounding rural communities within the constituency.
The engagements began in Odumasi, proceeded to Diewuoso, and culminated in Mampamhwe.
During the interactions, Lawyer Nurudeen explained the NDC's policies, including the 24-hour economy and no fees stress policy, to the youth, parents, and market women.
Aboagye seized the opportunity to assure the people of his commitment to bringing development to the constituency if voted for.
He cited instances where he had utilized his personal resources to assist in road maintenance within the constituency.
He reminded the people that, as one of their own, tracing his roots to Kwapia and Patakoro, the development of the area was of utmost importance to him.
He emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had taken the people for granted, failing to deliver any meaningful development, and therefore should not be voted for.
In Odumasi, a youth group calling itself Aboagye Fun Club assured the Parliamentary Candidate of their unwavering commitment to vote for him and John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming December 7th elections.
At Mampamhwe, the Odikro (traditional leader) pledged his support for Aboagye and appealed to him to remember the community when the NDC assumed office on January 7, 2025.
He lamented that most young people in the community were unemployed, making life unbearable for them.
Lawyer Abass Nurudeen later joined Agonaba FM, a local radio station in Obuasi, to share the NDC's 2024 manifesto with listeners.
The door-to-door campaign concluded at the Tutuka Lorry Station, where videos showcasing the failures of the NPP government, featuring Dr. Bawumia, President Akufo-Addo, and other top officials, were presented to the people.
