NDC should expose corrupt NPP officials -Konadu

Accra, March 3, GNA - Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, on Wednesday asked National Democratic Congress (NDC) functionaries, activists and sympathisers to assist the government in exposing all alleged corrupt officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for prosecution. She noted that such efforts would make probity and accountability a cornerstone of the NDC meaningful.

Nana Konadu made the call at the inauguration of seven committees and four directorates for the party to kick-start its campaign for victory in Election 2012 in Accra.

The committees, tasked to chart the onward move and the cohesion of the party for Election 2012 are the Legal, Complaints and Conflict Resolution, Finance, Economic, Social Services, Communications and Political committees. The four directorates are Communications, Research, International Relations and Elections.

They swore the Official Oath administered by President John Evans Atta Mills.

Nana Konadu pointed out that the inauguration was an indication that the party was ready to mobilise all human and other resources to prepare effectively and efficiently to battle the NPP in Election 2012. She called on members of the committees to work hard to assist government to fulfill its socio-economic development and the Better Ghana agenda.

Nana Konad u, President of 31st December Women's Movement and member of the Political Committee said it was obligatory for the appointed members of the committees and directorates to mobilise the required logistics for more effective work for the NDC at the grassroots, constituency and national levels to ensure victory in 2012.

"As members of the various committees and directorates, we should live above reproach and work to achieve a credible, free and fair victory in 2012," she added.
