NDC to focus on job creation in second term - Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama says the next phase of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government will concentrate on job creation for Ghanaians.

According to the president, the last four years have been used to establish the necessary infrastructure to enable the economy throw up more jobs in the coming years.

President Mahama made the statement when he addressed a rally of NDC supporters at Jema in the Brong Ahafo region as part of his Advancing the Better Ghana agenda campaign tour of the region.

He said the NDC government wants to build a country of entrepreneurs under its Young Entrepreneurs Programme to enable young people tap into opportunities available to create employment for themselves and others.

He said for the past four years, the government has extended the electricity connectivity reach from 54 percent to 72 percent as it prepares the ground to create the jobs for the citizens.

On his part, the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said the NPP upon realizing defeat in the December polls is resorting to rough tactics ahead of the poll.

He however stressed that the NDC is not going to reply in kind but will ensure that there is peace before and after the party wins the election in December.

He said people who know they have no chance at winning the election are those plotting chaos in the election but assured the people that the government was going ensure that everyone is safe in the country.

He further admonished the people to vote massively for the parliamentary candidates to make the work of President Mahama easier in office.
