The Bono East Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) welcomes former President John Dramani Mahama as he begins a four-day regional campaign tour.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the people of Bono East expressed their delight at the visit, highlighting Mahama's strong connection to the region and his contributions to its development during his tenure as Vice President and President from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2017.

Mahama, who is married to a native of Bono East, is warmly remembered for numerous projects that transformed the region and improved livelihoods.

The tour comes amid calls from the people for the completion of many initiatives abandoned by the current New Patriotic Party's administration.

During his visit, Mahama will engage with communities in various constituencies, showcasing his record of infrastructure development.

In the Techiman South Constituency, notable projects under his leadership included the establishment of the Divisional Police Headquarters, the Nana Abrafi Women and Children Hospital, the Holy Family Midwifery and Nursing Training College, and the Gyarko Community Day Senior High School.

In Techiman North, key accomplishments such as the construction of the Tuobodom-Offuman Road, the Krobo Nursing Training College, and the Krobo Community Day Senior High School are remembered as symbols of progress.

The Techiman North District Assembly building also stands as a testament to Mahama's developmental vision for the region.

In Nkoranza South, Mahama is credited with transforming the Nkoranza Technical Institute into a centre of excellence for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

His efforts in upgrading the town's roads and near-completion of the Donkronkwanta Community Day Senior High School further highlight his focus on education and infrastructure.

Residents of Nkoranza North commend Mahama for the development of critical road networks, including the Asekye-Busunya Road and Asekye-Jema Nkwanta Road, which have enhanced accessibility and economic activity in the area.

The construction of new facilities at Yefriman and Busunya Senior High Schools has improved the educational landscape.

In Kintampo South, Mahama is praised for the Jema-Ampomah Road, the Jema Town Water Project, and a series of projects at Jema Senior High School, collectively known as the “Gang of Five,” which include new dormitories, classrooms, and administrative buildings.

The community also anticipates the completion of the Amoma Community Day Senior High School, which was left unfinished at 80% completion.

The Kintampo North constituency recognizes Mahama for the New Longoro Community Day Senior High School and extensive renovations at the Kintampo Government Hospital, which included a new surgical ward and updated male and female wards.

Additionally, over 100 communities were connected to the national grid through rural electrification projects during his tenure.

In Atebubu-Amantin, the construction of the Konkrompe Community Day Senior High School and the Assembly Hall at Atebubu College of Education are seen as vital contributions to local education.

Pru West celebrates developments such as the Abeaseman Community Day Senior High School and a rural electrification project that covered over 70% of the area.

The construction of the Yeji-Kumasi road is also credited with boosting transportation and access to services.

In Pru East, Mahama's initiatives included the start of roadworks in Yeji town, which remain incomplete under the current administration, as well as support for Yeji Senior High School and the establishment of the Midwifery and Nursing Training College at Yeji.

In Sene West and Sene East, significant projects included the Kwame Danso-Kajaji road, classroom blocks for Kwame Danso Senior High School, the Bassa Community Day Senior High School, and Kajaji Senior High School, all of which expanded educational opportunities in the region.

The Bono East Regional Communications Bureau issued a statement praising Mahama’s unwavering commitment to Ghana’s development and expressing hope for his return to the presidency to complete the projects abandoned by the current administration.
