NDC wish Muslims happy Eid-ul-Adha

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated Muslims and wished them a fruitful celebration on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha festival.

A statement signed by Mr. George Lawson, Acting General Secretary of the NDC and copied to Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra said the peace, stability and development maintained in the country is due to the unending prayers of Muslims.

“It is the view of the NDC that the existing harmony, peace and tolerance enjoyed among the major faiths in the country will be sustained and strengthened in the interest of the nation”, the statement added.

The statement said the NDC would not renege on its role and responsibility of promoting the interest of all faiths including Islam, and continues in the effort of exploring potential areas of relevance to augment the cause of Islam in the country.

“This, the NDC believes will help develop the full potential of our Muslim brothers and sisters to enable them contribute their quota to nation building’’.

The statement urged Ghanaians to use the occasion to preach peace, love, and unity to strengthen national development.

The celebration of Eid-ul-Adha which is the Feast of Sacrifice is a special event for Muslims in the country and across the globe.

The event reminded them of the inclination of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his only son (Ishmael) to Allah when he was commanded to do so.
